What SUM achieved: SUM generated one of the clearest research to deployment transitions in the project. The demand and fleet availability forecasting logic developed in Work Package 2 was translated by Siemens Mobility into a functioning production API architecture, deployed in Rotterdam at the Beurs mobility hub and integrated with the CHECK scooter service and the RET app. This means the project produced a live mobility service component rather than only validating a forecasting idea.
Life beyond SUM: Siemens Mobility will continue operating and expanding the API after project end under a proprietary licence. The immediate priority is to extend the integration to additional Rotterdam mobility hubs in collaboration with RET, using the Beurs deployment as the reference case.
Target users: RET, city mobility networks, MaaS providers, PT operators and shared mobility operators.
Main barriers: The main barriers are operational: alignment with app roadmaps, continuing data sharing with scooter operators, and practical hub by hub roll out coordination.
Post project actions and owner: Siemens owns the API architecture and will continue operation and progressive roll out from 2026 onward, starting with additional Rotterdam hubs.
