Perceived Safety Choices
Published on 13 May 2026
Perceived_safety_choices is a GitHub repository, while Psafechoices is a python open-source package developed by NTUA. The package includes tools to investigate the overall impact of perceived safety on travel behavior of micro-mobility modes, e.g., e-bikes and e-scooters, in relationship with traditional last-mile modes, e.g., private car and walking. The developed model is built on the hypothesis that perceived safety affects travel behavior of micro-mobility services users and is related to road environment. The overall approach combines ordinal logistic regression models, which predict perceived safety in different road environment settings using a 7-point Likert Scale, with discrete choice or simulation models that simulate the mode/route choices.
